It is worth noting that the Mazda 3 has a tank capacity of 55 liters and and the Mazda 5 has a tank capacty of 60 liters. With an average difference between the highest and lowest quoted prices for 95 octain it's fair to say that you could save around 12.00 NIS on a single fill - that's about $3.00 or $156 per year if you fill up once a week.
The National Infrastructures Ministry updates the petrol prices at the end of each month. The prices are determined according to the oil prices in Europe on the first five days of each month's seven last working days.
However, as the price of oil is in dollars, a rise or drop in the dollar's exchange rate may also influence the petrol prices. Due to the taxation on fuel, which is fixed and is a key elements in the overall price, the rises and drops in the gasoline prices in Israel are not as sharp as the rises and drops in the oil prices.
