What's the government's take from what we pay at the pump

Have you ever wondered why the gas price varies so much from one country to another? Well besides the obvious such as Venezuela subsidising up to 90% of the cost at the pump and other oil-rich nations having so much of the black gold that it virtually pours out of their bathroom tap, most of the industrialised nations use it a most fruitful form of consumer tax.
Today I came across this post where the Israeli government's fuel tax policy is clearly explained.
